Art Therapy is a combination of nonverbal and verbal therapy which encourages self- growth and greater integration through the use of simple art techniques. The creating of art becomes a bridge between the conscious and unconscious minds. The art psychotherapist guides the self-learning experience through gentle probing and leading questions during and after the art creation. Art therapy may invite and “inner child” to come forth, promote relaxation, become and outlet for stress, anxiety and anger and become a process for greater self-expression.
